Devotees Celebrate Sharadiya Navratri Across India
On the second day of Sharadiya Navratri, devotees gathered at temples across India to offer prayers and seek blessings. In Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, many visited the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. This day is dedicated to worshipping Goddess Durga as Mata Brahmacharini.
Temples and Celebrations
In Haridwar, devotees visited the Maa Chandi Devi Temple, while in Madhya Pradesh, Indian Cricket Team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir offered prayers at the Maa Pitambara Temple in Datia. In Delhi, large crowds gathered at the Shri Kalka Ji Temple and the Jandewalan Mata Temple, where aarti was performed.
In Vijayawada, the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, also known as Kanaka Devi Temple, saw many visitors. In Chhatarpur, an aarti was held at the Shri Adhya Katyayani Shaktipith Mandir.
Security and Arrangements
In Nashik, tight security was in place at the Kalika Temple Devasthan, with DCP Ravindra Kumar Chavan overseeing arrangements. Traffic was diverted, and over 100 police personnel and CCTV cameras were deployed.
Durga Puja Pandals
In Bhopal, a Durga Puja pandal themed after Ayodhya’s Ram Temple was created. In Kolkata’s Lake Town, a pandal inspired by the Tirupati Balaji Temple was set up, as explained by Sujit Bose, West Bengal Minister and President of Sreebhumi Sporting Club.
In Delhi’s CR Park, Joint CP Sanjay Kumar Jain inspected the famous Durga Puja Pandal, ensuring security measures were in place.
