Devotees Celebrate Sharadiya Navratri Across India
The nine-day festival of Sharadiya Navratri has begun, with devotees across India visiting temples to offer prayers and seek blessings from Goddess Durga. This festival is dedicated to worshipping the nine forms of Goddess Durga, known as Navadurga.
Temples Across India
In Madhya Pradesh, devotees gathered at the Kali Temple in Bhopal. In Uttarakhand, prayers were offered at Mata Vaishno Devi Gufa Mandir in Dehradun. Rajasthan saw devotees at Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir in Jaipur, while in West Bengal, prayers were held at Nimtala Ghat Mata Temple in Kolkata.
Uttar Pradesh witnessed worship at several temples, including Kali Bari Temple in Lucknow and Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar. In Delhi, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj offered prayers at Jhandewala Devi Mandir, and aarti was performed at Shri Adhya Katyayani Shaktipith Mandir in Chhatarpur.
In Punjab, devotees visited Durgiana Temple in Amritsar, and in Assam, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya offered prayers at Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati. Haryana saw large gatherings at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula, with BJP MP Anurag Thakur participating.
Chhattisgarh’s Maa Mahamaya Temple in Raipur and Shaktipeeth Danteshwari Temple in Dantewada were also visited by devotees. In Himachal Pradesh, prayers were offered at Kali Bari Temple in Shimla, and in Jammu and Kashmir, devotees thronged Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra.
Karnataka’s Sri Durga Parameshwari Temple in Bengaluru also saw a large number of devotees.
Leaders Extend Greetings
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the first day of Sharadiya Navratri, wishing everyone a happy and auspicious festival. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also conveyed his best wishes, announcing free bus services for devotees visiting Maa Bamleshwari in Dongargarh.
