Devender Yadav and Bansuri Swaraj Speak Out After Karol Bagh Building Collapse
After a tragic incident at Karol Bagh in New Delhi that claimed five lives and left many injured, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Devender Yadav criticized the government’s inaction. He stated, “No one from the government or the administration has arrived here so far. The debris is lying as it was yesterday… There is a possibility of people being stuck inside.”
Yadav also mentioned that cracks have developed in nearby houses and called for compensation for the affected families.
Earlier, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj blamed the Delhi government for negligence, stating, “Four people have died and more than 14 were injured due to the building collapse incident. Delhi government needs to take cognisance of structures that are in a bad state.”
Delhi Chief Minister Designate and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for the bereaved families and assured financial assistance to the injured. She also promised legal action against the building owner.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor called for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to provide Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of the deceased and Rs 5 lakh to the injured.
