Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis Denies Claims of Projects Moving Out of Maharashtra

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has refuted opposition claims that projects are being moved out of Maharashtra. This statement came after ReNew, a renewable energy company, clarified that they are not leaving Maharashtra and are, in fact, increasing their investments in the state.

Opposition’s Claims

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had accused the BJP of transferring resources from Mumbai to Gujarat. He expressed concerns that the BJP might even move the Ganesh festival celebrations to Gujarat, stating that such actions affect Mumbai’s status and resources.

ReNew’s Clarification

ReNew clarified that news reports suggesting they abandoned a project in Nagpur due to high power tariffs and inconclusive discussions were misleading and incorrect. The company emphasized that they are committed to Maharashtra, with plans to invest in the upstream value chain of solar manufacturing. ReNew has an installed capacity of 550 MW in Maharashtra and aims to reach 2000 MW by 2025-26, with investments totaling Rs 15,000 crore.
