On October 9, Delhi’s environment minister, Gopal Rai, held a meeting with construction agencies at the Delhi Secretariat to address dust pollution. The Delhi government launched an anti-dust campaign on October 7, inspecting sites and penalizing those not following rules. Representatives from 120 construction sites were trained on dust control measures.

Gopal Rai also discussed the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) preparation for the upcoming Delhi elections, expressing confidence in contesting all seventy assembly seats and defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) again. He highlighted the party’s readiness and past success against BJP.

To combat dust pollution, construction agencies received training and toolkits, and ten agencies were awarded for their exceptional efforts. The Delhi government has a multifold winter-action plan, including the ‘Green Delhi’ app, bio-decomposer spraying, and upcoming initiatives to reduce vehicle and biomass pollution.
