New Delhi, September 2: Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot spoke to thousands of delivery partners at an event organized by Zomato and Blinkit at Talkatora Stadium. The event highlighted the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) for delivery partners and provided guidance on choosing the right vehicle.

Industry leaders, including EV two-wheeler manufacturers, fleet operators, charge point providers, and financing experts, shared their insights. Minister Gahlot expressed gratitude to the delivery partners, calling them ‘Pradushan Yodha’ and praised their role in the economy and environmental protection. He emphasized the importance of transitioning to EVs to reduce pollution in Delhi.

Gahlot stated, “Embracing EVs is more than just a technological change–it’s a crucial move to reduce pollution in our city. I encourage all platform partners to take an active role in this transition, helping to pave the way for a cleaner, greener Delhi.”

He also highlighted the Delhi government’s commitment to fostering an environmentally conscious city under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership. The government supports the shift to EVs and commends initiatives like EV Bazaar by Zomato and Blinkit.

Anjalli Ravi Kumar, Chief Sustainability Officer at Zomato, commented on the company’s commitment to 100% EV-based deliveries by 2030. She noted the success of previous EV melas and bazaars, which influenced around 5,000 delivery partners to switch from petrol-based bikes in FY23.
