Delhi Traffic Police Officers Dragged by Car in Ber Sarai Incident
In a shocking incident in New Delhi, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Pramod and Head Constable Shailesh were injured after being dragged on the bonnet of a car. The incident occurred at Ber Sarai, a location known for its blind turn prone to accidents. The officers were on duty to catch signal jumpers when a car, driven by two minors, refused to stop and dragged them for 20 meters. ASI Pramod sustained head and back injuries, while Shailesh was injured in the knees.
Police Action and Investigation
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South West Delhi, Surendra Choudhary, stated that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the minors under sections 109 (attempt to murder), 221, and 132 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). The car owner, Jai Bhagwan, will also face prosecution for allowing minors to drive his vehicle. The police have taken action under the Motor Vehicles Act, classifying the incident as a serious offense due to the reckless actions of the driver.
