Delhi Police Rescues 21 Children from Child Labor in Sadar Bazar

The Delhi Police, in collaboration with the Delhi Cantonment Tehsildar, a non-governmental organization, the labor department, and local police, successfully rescued 21 children from child labor in Sadar Bazar, Delhi Cantonment. The operation took place on October 8, and the children were working in various shops.

Out of the rescued children, 19 were sent to Mukti Ashram Burari, while the two girls were taken to Rainbow Girls Home at Kashmiri Gate. The police have registered a case under Section 74 and 79 of the Juvenile Justice Act and Section 3 and 14 of the Child Labour Act.

In a similar operation on October 3, the Vidisha Welfare Social Organisation (VWSO) Child Help Line and Government Railway Police (GRP) rescued 14 minors from child labor trafficking. The children were found on the Ahmedabad Express train at Ganjbasoda railway station. The contractor responsible for trafficking was arrested. Deepa Sharma from VWSO stated that 10 children were initially rescued in Vidisha, and the remaining 4 were later rescued in Bhopal.
