Delhi Police Investigates Jashandeep Kaur for Fake US Visa Documents
New Delhi [India], August 15: The Delhi Police has registered a case against a woman named Jashandeep Kaur for attempting to obtain a US visa using fake documents. The investigation began after the US Embassy in India filed a complaint.
Details of the Case
According to the complaint, Jashandeep Kaur, a resident of Punjab, applied for a non-immigrant visa. She claimed in her online application that she worked as an Administrative Assistant with Kapoor Associates in Haryana from October 19, 2020, to July 31, 2022. However, during her interview with US Embassy officials, Kaur admitted that she had never worked for Kapoor Associates.
How the Fraud was Uncovered
Kaur revealed that she obtained the fake documents from Jaswant Singh, her father’s friend. She applied for the visa through Singh and Vanshika of KC Overseas Education Karnal, agreeing to pay Singh Rs 1.5 lakh if the visa was issued.
Legal Actions
The US Embassy accused Kaur of conspiring with Singh and Vanshika to obtain forged documents to cheat the US Embassy and the US Government. Based on this complaint, the Delhi Police registered a case against Kaur under sections 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) at the Chanakyapuri Police Station. Further investigation is ongoing.
