Delhi Police Busts Organ Transplant Racket Involving Doctor and Bangladeshi Mastermind

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested seven people, including a doctor, in connection with an international organ transplant racket with links in Bangladesh and India. According to Amit Goel, DCP Crime Branch, the mastermind of this racket was a Bangladeshi who arranged for both donors and recipients from Bangladesh. A person named Russell, who used to arrange patients and donors, has also been arrested.

The female doctor involved in the transplants was working on a fee-for-service basis and was not on the hospital’s payroll. Indraprastha Apollo Hospital (IAH) has placed the doctor under suspension and stated that they have provided full cooperation to the investigative authorities. The doctor was also working at another private hospital in Noida, Yatharth Hospital, which has denied any direct association with her and emphasized their compliance with ethical standards and protocols.

Further investigation is underway.
