Delhi Police Arrests Three in Sara Kale Khan Gang Rape Case
In a shocking incident in New Delhi, three individuals, including an auto driver, have been arrested in connection with the gang rape of a woman in the Sara Kale Khan area. The victim, a 34-year-old woman from Odisha, was found by a naval officer on the night of October 10-11, bleeding and in distress. She was taken to AIIMS Trauma Center, where it was confirmed she had been raped.
Details of the Incident
The victim, who has been living in Delhi, was attacked by three men in a moving auto. The accused have been identified as Prabhu Mahto, Parmod @ Babu, and Mohammad Shamsul. The police recovered the victim’s blood-soaked clothes near Rajghat.
Police Investigation
Delhi Police, led by IPS DCP-South East Ravi Kumar Singh, launched an investigation after receiving a call about the victim. Ten police teams were formed, and after 21 days of relentless efforts, the accused were apprehended. Prabhu Mahto was arrested on October 30, followed by the arrests of Pramod Babu and Mohammad Shamsul on November 2 and 4, respectively.
Accused’s Confession
During interrogation, Parmod @ Babu, an alcohol addict, confessed to conspiring with Mohammad Shamsul, a beggar and alcohol addict, to assault the victim. Prabhu Mahto, the auto driver, joined them and later raped the victim in his auto before abandoning her.
Current Status
The victim is undergoing psychiatric treatment at AIIMS, and the accused are in police custody. The Chief Minister of Odisha has requested an investigation report from Delhi Police.
