Delhi Police Arrests Shooter in GTB Hospital Murder Case
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully arrested Faheem alias Badshah, a key member of a notorious gang, for his involvement in the GTB Hospital Murder Case. The accused had conspired to commit the murder in a flat in the Babarpur area and provided weapons to the shooters.
Details of the Case
On July 14, 2024, the Delhi Police registered a case regarding the murder of Riyazuddin, a 35-year-old resident of Khajuri Khas, Delhi, who was shot five times at GTB Hospital. The Crime Branch took on the task of apprehending the culprits and conducted raids in Delhi, UP, and Punjab.
Arrest of the Mastermind
Based on technical surveillance and manual intelligence, the main mastermind, Faheem alias Badshah, 30, a resident of Babarpur, Delhi, was arrested near the Highway at Meerut, UP. Faheem had come to Delhi in 2019 and started working as a property dealer. He later got involved in petty offences and joined a notorious gang.
Previous Criminal Activities
In August 2023, Faheem was arrested in a robbery case and spent about ten months in jail. After his release in June 2024, he reconnected with his gang members and planned the murder of Waseem, a member of a rival gang. However, due to misidentification, they shot another patient, Riyazuddin, at GTB Hospital.
Evading Arrest
After the incident, Faheem and his associates absconded from the crime scene. Faheem stayed at different places in Zakir Nagar, Delhi, Bihar, Punjab, and Meerut to evade arrest. The Delhi Police Crime Branch’s persistent efforts led to his capture.
