Delhi Police Arrests Geeta for Abduction and Assault of Minor Girl in 2019
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a 23-year-old woman named Geeta for her involvement in the abduction and assault of a minor girl from Delhi in 2019. Geeta, a resident of Ludhiana, Punjab, had been evading arrest for over five years and was declared a Proclaimed Offender.
In November 2019, Geeta allegedly lured a 15-year-old girl from Delhi to Surat, Gujarat. The victim’s parents reported her disappearance to the Kanjhawala police, leading to a case under Section 363 of the IPC. The victim was found and revealed that she was held captive, drugged, and sexually assaulted by two men, Pintu and Satinder, under Geeta’s orders. Her communication with her family was cut off, and she was confined for about four months.
Despite several attempts, Geeta evaded arrest by frequently changing locations. In February 2020, she left the victim near Bawana, Delhi, who then returned home. Additional charges were added to the case, including Sections 328, 376D, and 120B of the IPC, and Section 6 of the POCSO Act.
Geeta was finally apprehended in Ludhiana after the Crime Branch received secret information about her location. Born in Raghunathpur, Uttar Pradesh, Geeta was educated up to the 8th grade and was 18 at the time of the crime. She is married but separated and this is her first recorded criminal involvement. The search for the other accused continues.
