New Delhi, September 17: Two individuals, Tarun Vincent Deniel and Harsh Kumar, were arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly obtaining and selling Call Detail Records (CDRs) and locations of mobile phone users. The police acted on intelligence and used a decoy customer to catch the suspects.

How They Were Caught

The decoy customer contacted the suspects to buy a CDR for Rs 60,000. An advance payment of Rs 29,000 was made online, and the CDR was sent via WhatsApp. The suspects were arrested at Dwarka Mor Metro Station when they came to collect the remaining Rs 31,000.

Confessions and Further Investigation

During questioning, the suspects admitted to selling over 100 CDRs and locations. They also revealed the involvement of another gang member, Sanjay Kumar, a freelance detective, who is currently being interrogated by the police.
