Delhi Police and Haryana STF Take Down Three Gangsters in Sonipat

In a joint operation, the Delhi Police Crime Branch and Haryana Special Task Force (STF) successfully neutralized three shooters from the Himanshu Bhau gang in Sonipat, Haryana. The encounter took place in the Kharkhoda area on Friday.

The three criminals, identified as Ashish alias Lalu, Sunny Kharar, and Vicky Ridhana, were involved in numerous serious crimes. Ashish and Vicky were part of the Burger King shootout incident on June 18, where they killed Aman Joon at a Burger King outlet in Rajouri Garden.

During the encounter, a Delhi Police officer was injured but is reported to be safe. The three gangsters were wanted by both Haryana and Delhi Police and had a reward of Rs 1 lakh each on their heads. Ashish was wanted in 13 cases, including murder and robbery, while Sunny was involved in 4-5 cases of murder and firing.

Gang leader Himanshu Bhau had claimed responsibility for the Burger King shooting as revenge for the killing of his associate, Shakti Dada. Interpol has issued a red-corner notice against Himanshu Bhau, and the Delhi Police had earlier invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against his gang.

Further details are awaited in the case.
