Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj Criticizes L-G VK Saxena Over Rising Crime in Delhi
New Delhi, September 30: Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has criticized Delhi Lieutenant Governor (L-G) VK Saxena, stating that the law and order situation in the national capital has worsened since Saxena took office.
Bharadwaj highlighted several incidents of crime, including the recent shooting of a gym owner in Greater Kailash and multiple extortion threats received by AAP MLAs Sanjiv Jha and Ajay Dutt. He mentioned that despite filing complaints, the police have not taken action.
He also spoke about a recent incident at a car showroom in the Naraina area, where the owner was asked to pay a ransom of Rs 5 crore and was threatened with death if he did not comply. Bharadwaj expressed frustration over the L-G’s silence and lack of response to these incidents.
Earlier, Delhi MLAs wrote to the L-G, expressing their concerns about the increasing incidents of gangsters demanding extortion from businesses in Delhi and requested an urgent meeting to discuss the situation.
