Delhi Minister Kailash Gehlot and CM Atishi Inspect Najafgarh Roads for Repairs

On Monday, Delhi Minister Kailash Gehlot inspected the roads in Najafgarh, South West Delhi, as part of the government’s road assessment and repair plan. He attributed the poor condition of the roads to an unusually long monsoon and assured quick repairs.

Minister Gehlot stated, “The condition of the roads is very bad. Inspection is going on in all roads today. One more reason is that the monsoons were quite long. We, along with the PWD workers, will try our best to repair the roads as soon as possible.” He also mentioned that he would meet with the Public Works Department (PWD) to address residents’ concerns.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, along with Ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj, Gopal Rai, and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, inspected roads in various parts of Delhi. Each minister has been assigned responsibility for different areas. CM Atishi oversees South and South East Delhi, Saurabh Bharadwaj is in charge of East Delhi, Gopal Rai reviews North East Delhi, Imran Hussain takes stock of Central and New Delhi, Kailash Gehlot is responsible for South West and Outer Delhi, and Mukesh Shehrawat oversees North West Delhi.

Former CM Arvind Kejriwal accompanied Atishi during her inspection and urged the preparation of a report on all PWD roads. CM Atishi vowed to restore all roads within three to four months, aiming for pothole-free roads by Diwali.

BJP leader Harish Khurrana criticized the inspection drive as a makeover attempt by AAP to deflect corruption allegations, claiming that development in Delhi has stalled for the past 9.5 years.
