Delhi Minister Atishi Issues Notice Over Independence Day Ad Without CM Kejriwal’s Photo

On Thursday, Delhi Minister Atishi issued Show Cause Notices to the Director and Secretary of the Information and Publicity Department. The notices were for issuing an Independence Day advertisement without the photo of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

In the notice, Atishi stated that on August 15, the department released a half-page newspaper advertisement without the CM’s photo, despite written directions and approval for a full-page ad with the photo. This act was termed as ‘wilful disobedience and gross insubordination.’

The notice also mentioned that the cost of the advertisements would be deducted from the salaries of the Director and Secretary. They were given three days to respond to the notice.

Earlier, Atishi wrote to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw about severe waterlogging under the Zakhira underpass in Delhi. She pointed out that the main cause was the lack of proper drainage for water from Indian Railways’ area.
