Delhi Minister Atishi Inspects Monsoon Control Room Amid Heavy Rains
Delhi Minister Atishi visited the Centralized Monsoon Control Room of the Public Works Department (PWD) to check on the waterlogging situation in the city. She shared on social media that the control room is closely monitoring areas with severe waterlogging through CCTV.
Atishi mentioned that ground staff are constantly inspecting potential waterlogged areas and taking immediate action to address complaints. The entire process is being monitored from the control room.
Residents of Delhi can report waterlogging issues by calling the toll-free number 1800110093 or using the WhatsApp Chatbot at 8130188222.
Earlier, the evening in Delhi became pleasant with rains providing relief from humidity and heat. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) advised people to avoid areas prone to waterlogging and to stay updated on traffic and weather warnings.
On June 30, Atishi announced a Rs 10 lakh compensation for the families of those who drowned due to heavy rainfall. She directed the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Revenue, to ensure the compensation is provided to the affected families.
Other states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh have also experienced heavy rainfall recently.
