Delhi Minister Atishi Inspects Flood-Damaged Water Plant After Heavy Rains

Delhi Water Minister Atishi visited the Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant on Sunday to inspect the damage caused by heavy rains. The flooding damaged the motors, disrupting water supply in many parts of Central Delhi. Atishi ordered officials to repair the pump house quickly and ensure such issues do not happen again.

Heavy rains on Friday and Saturday caused waterlogging, traffic jams, and accidents in Delhi-NCR. The Delhi Traffic Police restricted movement at Okhla Underpass due to waterlogging. Tragically, a 60-year-old man and two boys drowned in separate incidents caused by the flooding.

Delhi experienced its highest June rainfall in 88 years, with 228 mm recorded in 24 hours from June 27 to June 28, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
