Delhi Minister Atishi Hospitalized During Hunger Strike for Water Rights

Delhi Minister Atishi has been admitted to the hospital after her health worsened during an indefinite hunger strike. She is protesting against the Haryana government for not releasing 100 million gallons of water per day to Delhi, causing a severe water crisis.

Health Concerns

Atishi’s blood sugar levels dropped dangerously low, prompting her hospitalization. AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj confirmed her condition. Singh stated, “She is not fighting for herself, she is fighting for the people of Delhi, for water.”

Details of the Hunger Strike

Atishi’s hunger strike entered its fifth day, with her health deteriorating rapidly. Doctors have described her condition as dangerous due to the drastic drop in her blood sugar and blood pressure levels.

Water Crisis in Delhi

The AAP alleges that Haryana is supplying 100 million gallons less water daily, affecting 28 lakh people in Delhi. The water shortage has been exacerbated by high temperatures and heat wave conditions, forcing residents to rely on water tankers.
