Delhi Metro Launches Check-In for International Flights at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium Stations
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a new service to make travel easier for international passengers. Now, travelers flying with Air India and Vistara Airlines can check in their luggage at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations on the Airport Express Line.
Collaboration with Airlines
This initiative is a collaboration between DMRC, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Air India, and Vistara Airlines. Previously, this service was only available for domestic flights, but now it has been extended to international flights as well.
How It Works
Passengers can check in their luggage at the metro stations, where it will be securely transported to the aircraft using advanced automated systems. This means they don’t have to carry their luggage through the airport, making their travel experience much easier.
Service Timings
Airline | Metro Station | Timings |
---|---|---|
Air India | New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium | 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM |
Vistara Airlines | New Delhi | 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM |
For international flights, passengers can check in between four (4) hours and three (3) hours before departure. For domestic flights, check-in can be done between twelve (12) hours and two (2) hours before the flight departure time.
Check-In Locations
At New Delhi Metro Station, airline check-in counters are located at the concourse level. At Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, the counters are situated next to the VFS Global Office at the concourse level.
