The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has announced elections for the chairman, deputy chairman, and standing committee members of 12 wards. These elections are set to take place on Wednesday.

Despite the Mayor’s concerns, the Lt. Governor has ordered that the elections proceed as scheduled. The Deputy Commissioners of the concerned zones will act as presiding officers to ensure a fair and transparent election process. The entire election process will be recorded to maintain transparency.

The official order from the MCD stated, “In the larger public interest and to preserve the democratic spirit of the Municipal Body, the elections will be conducted as per the schedule notified by the Commissioner, MCD.”
