Delhi Leaders Protest for Reinstatement of Bus Marshals
In New Delhi, leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat, joined bus marshals in a protest at Chandagiram Aakhara. The protest demands the reinstatement of bus marshals whose services were terminated by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena last year. AAP MLAs such as Dilip Pandey and Sanjeev Jha were also present.
A resolution from a recent Delhi Assembly Session planned a meeting between AAP, BJP leaders, and the LG to discuss the issue. Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj stated they are waiting for BJP’s participation in the discussion. He mentioned that on September 26, it was decided that AAP and BJP members would meet the LG on October 3 to resolve the issue.
The AAP’s official social media account also highlighted the protest, urging LG Saxena to reinstate the bus marshals so they can celebrate upcoming festivals with their families. Last month, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi wrote to LG Saxena, requesting the restoration of the bus marshals’ jobs, emphasizing the importance of the scheme and the need for urgent attention to the matter.
