Delhi Introduces Single Window System to Help Businesses

Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj Announces New Online Platform

The Delhi government has launched the Single Window System (SWS) to simplify business operations and boost investor confidence. This online platform is designed to streamline approvals, reduce compliance burdens, and promote sector-specific reforms.

Key Features of the Single Window System

According to Delhi Industries Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, the SWS includes 59 services across 12 departments. It aims to enhance regulatory efficiency and expedite project timelines, creating a more investor-friendly environment.

Minister Bharadwaj explained that the SWS is an online platform for investors to interact with all relevant stakeholder departments. It acts as a single interface for applying for all necessary clearances, making the process more transparent and efficient.

Benefits for Investors

The SWS helps investors by reducing the time, effort, and compliance costs associated with starting a new business. It allows them to apply for multiple clearances from different departments on a single platform, rather than navigating multiple portals.

Implementation and Services

The SWS is a flagship project of Delhi, implemented by the Department of Industries with assistance from NIC Delhi. In its first phase, 37 services from 7 departments have been onboarded, including the Labour Department and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee. In the second phase, 22 services from 5 departments, such as the Drug and Control Department, have been added.

Overall, the SWS aims to create a more open and transparent business regulatory environment, promoting the ease of starting and doing business in Delhi.
