Delhi High Court Orders Audit of Delhi Police Cycle Allowance

The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi Police to submit a petition regarding the cycle allowance paid to its officials to its auditor for examination. The court decided not to entertain the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking an inquiry into the allowance, which is Rs 180 per month for constables and head constables. The plea alleged that officials are fraudulently claiming the allowance without using cycles. The petitioner, advocate Sanser Pal Singh, argued that this misuse involves public funds collected from taxpayers.
