Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj Meets FAIMA After GTB Hospital Incident

A delegation from the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) met with Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Monday after a shooting incident at GTB Hospital. The delegation included FAIMA’s National Chairman, National General Secretary, and Chief Advisor, along with senior health officials from the Delhi government.

During the meeting, Minister Bhardwaj assured that robust security measures would be implemented to create a safer working environment for doctors and improve patient care. He promised the installation of metal detectors at emergency entries, deployment of two armed guards at major hospitals, and a police constable on duty round the clock. Additionally, there will be a review of hospital Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), strict legal action against assaulters, and improved CCTV maintenance.

Minister Bhardwaj expressed his condolences to the affected family, calling the incident unfortunate. He emphasized the importance of safety and security for both Delhiites and doctors, and mentioned that the matter would be taken up with the police and central government.
