Delhi Half Marathon 2024: Running for Zero Hunger

The third edition of the Delhi Half Marathon concluded with over 36,000 runners participating to support the ‘RunForZeroHunger’ initiative. Vedanta, through The Anil Agarwal Foundation (AAF), pledged to provide one meal for every kilometer run, raising 10 million meals this year, doubling last year’s contribution.

Impact and Initiatives

In previous editions, runners helped provide 7 million meals to children at Nand Ghar, AAF’s Women & Child Development project. AAF has distributed 7.2 million multi-millet bars, reducing malnutrition cases significantly. This year, AAF extended its commitment to include animals under the ‘One Health’ approach, benefiting both children and animals through the ‘Meals for All’ initiative.

The marathon was flagged off by Priya Agarwal Hebbar, with dignitaries like Kiren Rijiju and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu present. Hebbar, who participated in the 10K run, expressed pride in contributing to the fight against malnourishment. Valarie Allman, the Paris Olympics 2024 Discus Throw Gold Medallist, inspired participants as the International Event Ambassador.
