Delhi Education Minister Atishi Stops Teacher Transfers in Delhi Schools

Delhi Education Minister Atishi has ordered the Secretary (Education) to immediately withdraw recent transfer orders affecting long-serving teachers in Delhi government schools. This decision came after the Directorate of Education mandated transfers for teachers who have been at the same school for over a decade, without the Minister’s consent.

Atishi emphasized the importance of the teacher-student relationship and stated that such administrative decisions should not harm teachers’ dignity. She also instructed that no future decisions affecting teachers’ morale be made without her approval.

Atishi shared that education has been the top priority of the Delhi Government under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal. She highlighted the efforts made to strengthen the education system and increase the capacity and confidence of teachers.

In response to the teachers’ concerns, Atishi issued strict instructions to withdraw the transfer orders immediately and ensure that no teacher is transferred just because they have been working in a particular school for more than 10 years. An action taken report is to be submitted within the next seven days.
