In New Delhi, the Rouse Avenue court is set to review the charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) concerning the tragic deaths of three UPSC aspirants. These deaths occurred when the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar was flooded on July 27.

Details of the Case

The CBI has charged six individuals, including CEO Abhishek Gupta and Deshpal Singh, along with building owners Parvinder Singh, Tejinder Singh, Harvinder, and Sarabjit Singh. The charges include criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide. Notably, Manuj Kathuria, the SUV driver, is not included in the charge sheet.

Legal Proceedings

On September 23, the Rouse Avenue court granted interim bail to CEO Abhishek Gupta and Coordinator Deshpal Singh. Previously, the Delhi High Court had granted interim bail to the four co-owners. The investigation was transferred to the CBI by the Delhi High Court on August 2. Earlier, on August 1, the Tis Hazari Court granted bail to Manuj Kathuria, and his vehicle was returned to him on September 4.
