Virender Singh Baisoya Biru in Rs 5000 Crore Drug Case

On Saturday, Delhi’s Patiala House Court issued a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Virender Singh Baisoya Biru, the alleged kingpin of a drug syndicate involved in a Rs 5000 crore drug case. The warrant was issued by Special Judge Sudhir Kumar Sirohi after hearing an application from the Investigation Officer (IO). Ravindra Kumar, Additional Public Prosecutor, along with the IO, represented the Delhi police.

The court was informed that Virender Singh Baisoya Biru is the main figure in the syndicate. He allegedly provided a vehicle to co-accused Jatinder Singh Gill, also known as Jassi, to travel to Amritsar, where contraband was recovered. Despite attempts to locate him, Virender Singh Baisoya Biru could not be found, leading to a notice being affixed at his residence.

The court has scheduled the NBW for November 25, 2024. Additionally, five accused individuals, Vijay Bhesania, Mayur Desale, Ashwin Ramani, Brijesh Kothia, and Amit Kumar, have been remanded to judicial custody until October 21. These individuals, all from Gujarat, were involved in the recovery of 518 kilograms of cocaine in a joint operation by Delhi and Gujarat police.

The operation, conducted on October 13, led to the seizure of drugs valued at Rs 5000 crores from a company in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. Earlier, on October 1, Delhi police recovered 562 kilograms of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana from a godown in Mahipal, Delhi. Further investigations on October 10 revealed an additional 208 kilograms of cocaine from a shop in Ramesh Nagar, Delhi. In total, 1289 kilograms of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana, worth Rs 13000 crores, have been recovered.
