On Monday, Delhi's Patiala House Court rejected a request from the Delhi police to extend the investigation period by 90 days in the AQIS Jharkhand Module case. This case involves 11 accused individuals, including Dr. Ishtiyaq from Ranchi. The module was uncovered through a joint operation by police forces from Delhi, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

Additional Sessions Judge Dr. Hardeep Kaur dismissed the plea, noting that the 90-day investigation period is nearing its end. The Special Cell is handling the investigation. On September 12, the court placed the 11 accused in judicial custody after police interrogation. They are part of a training module allegedly led by Dr. Ishtiyaq.
Accused Individuals
The accused include Anamul Ansari, Shanaz Ansari, Altaf Ansari, Hasan Ansari, Arshad Khan, Umar Farooq, Ishtiyaque Ahmed, Mohd. Rizwan, Motiur Rehaman, Rehmatullahi, and Faizan Ahmed. They were arrested in August. Advocate Abu Baker Sabaq represented Dr. Ishtiyaque Ahmed and nine others during the hearing.
Operation Details
The operation, coordinated by the Special Cell of Delhi Police and state police forces, led to the arrest of individuals from Rajasthan and Jharkhand. The module, allegedly led by Dr. Ishtiyaq, aimed to declare Khilafat and conduct terrorist activities. Members received indoctrination and weapons training at various locations.
Recovered Items
Police recovered an AK-47 rifle, a .38 bore revolver, live cartridges, a dummy insas, an air rifle, a hand grenade, and other items. The operation also led to the detention of suspects from Jharkhand and UP for questioning.
