After the exit polls, Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav expressed confidence in forming a strong government in Haryana and a coalition in Jammu and Kashmir. He stated, “There is a good atmosphere in Haryana and I have full faith that we will make a strong government in Haryana. In J&K we will form a coalition government.”

Congress candidate Mewa Singh criticized the BJP, saying, “People of the state were in distress during BJP’s rule of corruption, inflation, law and order situation and unemployment…There is anger among the people and that anger has come out in the form of votes against the BJP.”

BJP leader Shaina NC dismissed the exit polls, emphasizing that the mandate is given by the people, not exit polls. She stated, “BJP will be forming the government in Haryana. Various schemes were implemented by the government for the benefit of the public…The mandate is given by the people, not by exit polls.”

RJD MP Misa Bharti welcomed the exit polls, predicting an INDIA alliance government in Haryana and J&K. “The exit poll says that the INDIA alliance will be formed, the government of the people will be formed and not the BJP,” she said.

Exit polls predict a clean sweep for Congress in Haryana, with some polls suggesting the party will win more than 50 of the 90 seats. In Jammu and Kashmir, a hung assembly is expected, with the National Conference-Congress alliance slightly ahead. The majority mark is 46, and no party is predicted to surpass it.

The single-phase polling in Haryana concluded with a 65.65% voter turnout. Jammu and Kashmir’s elections were held in three phases. Results will be announced on October 8.
