Delhi CM Atishi Prepares for Chhath Puja and Meets PM Modi

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi recently held a meeting with district magistrates to discuss preparations for the upcoming Chhath Puja. The AAP government plans to set up over 1000 Chhath Ghats across Delhi, ensuring facilities like lighting, clean water, toilets, tents, security, medical services, and CCTV are available for devotees. Chhath Puja, a festival dedicated to the sun, will be celebrated from November 5 to 8.

Earlier, Atishi met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss cooperation between the central and Delhi governments. Atishi, who became Delhi’s Chief Minister in September after Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation, is the third woman to hold this position in Delhi, following Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit.

There have been ongoing disagreements between the AAP government and Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on various issues. Recently, the Delhi government’s Public Works Department allocated the 6 Flag Staff Road bungalow to Chief Minister Atishi, which sparked a dispute involving the AAP, BJP, and the LG’s office. Delhi is expected to hold elections early next year.
