Delhi CM Atishi Prepares for Chhath Puja with Over 1,000 Ghats
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi held a high-level meeting with senior officials from various departments to prepare for the upcoming Chhath Puja. She emphasized the importance of early preparations to ensure a smooth celebration for devotees. CM Atishi highlighted that Chhath Puja is a significant festival of faith and assured that the Delhi Government is dedicated to facilitating a joyful celebration.
She instructed district officials to start preparing Chhath Ghats in their areas and to collaborate with local Chhath Puja committees for suggestions. The Delhi Government plans to set up more than 1,000 Chhath Ghats across the city, equipped with essential facilities like clean water, tents, electricity, toilets, security, medical services, power backup, and CCTV cameras.
Additionally, a model Chhath Ghat will be established in every assembly constituency, featuring cultural programs organized by the government. This initiative aims to provide convenience and enhance the festival experience for devotees. Chhath Puja, dedicated to the Sun, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in several north-Indian states and beyond.
