Delhi Chief Minister Atishi met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Atishi shared on social media that she looks forward to the President’s support for the welfare of Delhi’s people. President Murmu also acknowledged the meeting on social media.

Earlier in the day, Atishi challenged a defamation case filed by BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor. Special Court Judge Vishal Gogne issued a notice to Kapoor, and the case is scheduled for hearing on October 7. The same matter will also be heard before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on the same day.

Senior advocate Ramesh Gupta, along with advocates Shailendra Singh and Mudit Jain, represented Atishi. The defamation complaint stems from Atishi’s claims that BJP approached her to join their party, which she alleged during a press conference on April 2, 2024. Kapoor’s legal notice, sent through Advocate Satya Ranjan Swain, stated that Atishi’s statements were false and intended to harm BJP’s reputation.
