Delhi CM Atishi Announces No NOC Needed for Electricity Meters
New Policy for Unauthorized Colonies
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has announced that residents in 1731 unauthorized colonies in Delhi will no longer need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to apply for electricity meters. This decision aims to ease the process for residents who have faced difficulties and corruption in obtaining power connections due to previous requirements set by the BJP’s Central government’s DDA.
Efforts to Improve Air Quality
In addition to the electricity meter announcement, the Delhi Government is implementing measures to improve air quality under the Graded Response Action Plan-1 (GRAP-1). A high-level meeting led by CM Atishi, with Environment Minister Gopal Rai and other officials, resulted in plans for 99 teams to inspect construction sites for dust control. Various departments will deploy anti-smog guns, and extra personnel will manage traffic in congested areas.
CM Atishi encouraged residents to carpool, avoid burning crackers and waste, and report pollution through the Green Delhi app. She noted that Delhi has experienced 200 good air quality days this year, thanks to the efforts of residents and government measures.
