Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Visits Hanuman Temple After Supreme Court Grants Bail
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place at noon to offer thanks and seek blessings. This visit followed the Supreme Court’s decision to grant him bail in the Delhi excise policy case.
In a post on X, Kejriwal stated, “Today at noon, I will go to Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place to thank God and seek his blessings.”
The Supreme Court granted bail with conditions, including:
- Submission of a Rs 10 lakh surety bond.
- Restrictions on entering the CM office and signing official documents unless necessary.
- Attendance at all trial dates unless exempted by the court.
Kejriwal’s lawyer, Rishikesh Kumar, explained that these conditions are similar to those imposed during his bail in the ED arrest case.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, 2024, in connection with a money laundering probe related to the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22. He was later arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 26, 2024, while in ED custody.
