Delhi BJP MLAs Urge High Court for CAG Reports Submission to LG Vinai Kumar Saxena

Delhi BJP MLAs Seek High Court Intervention for CAG Reports

Delhi BJP MLAs have taken a significant step by approaching the Delhi High Court. They are seeking a directive for the government to send the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena. These reports are essential for the LG to present before the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

Allegations of Report Suppression

The plea, led by Leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta, claims that 12 CAG reports have not been submitted to the LG by the Ministry of Finance, GNCTD. Despite repeated requests from the LG, these reports remain pending, preventing their presentation in the assembly.

Concerns Over Democratic Principles

The BJP MLAs argue that withholding these reports violates democratic principles and obstructs proper scrutiny of government actions and expenditures. This raises concerns about the government’s financial transparency and accountability.

Efforts to Address the Issue

Vijender Gupta, along with other BJP MLAs, has previously approached various officials, including the Chief Minister and Finance Minister, but no action has been taken. They have also protested outside the residence of Finance Minister Atishi.

Legal Action and Demands

The petition, filed by Advocates Neeraj and Satya Ranjan Swain, demands a special session for discussion on the suppressed CAG reports. The opposition leaders continue to push for transparency and accountability in governance.
