Delhi BJP Leader Calls for Action on Chandni Chowk Encroachments
Praveen Shankar Kapoor, a spokesperson for the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party, has raised concerns about encroachments in Chandni Chowk and nearby areas. He has urged Ashwani Kumar, the Commissioner of the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD), to conduct a surprise inspection to address the issue.

According to Kapoor, multiple complaints have been lodged by residents, but no action has been taken by officials. He emphasized the need for immediate intervention in areas like Diwan Hall Road, Khari Baoli, and Old Delhi Railway Station Road.
Mayor’s Involvement
Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi has also been involved, having previously written to the MCD commissioner about road maintenance. She has initiated a night shift for cleaning in Chandni Chowk to improve conditions.
