Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Highlights India’s Strength at Tarang Shakti in Jodhpur

Jodhpur, Rajasthan – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Multinational Exercise ‘Tarang Shakti’ for enhancing cooperation and trust among partner countries. Speaking at the Distinguished Visitors’ Day event, he emphasized India’s commitment to mutual coexistence and cooperation.

Strengthening Defence Ties

Rajnath Singh highlighted that ‘Tarang Shakti’ has bolstered India’s defence relationships, ensuring that partner nations will stand together in times of need. He noted that such exercises allow soldiers from different backgrounds to learn from each other.

Celebrating Indian Air Force Achievements

The Minister celebrated the Indian Air Force’s transformation, from having only six squadrons at independence to now being equipped with modern aircraft and next-generation equipment. He mentioned the collaboration between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and French company Safran Helicopter Engines as a sign of India’s progress in defence manufacturing.

Indigenisation and Self-Reliance

Rajnath Singh also spoke about India’s strides towards self-reliance in manufacturing weapons, aircraft, and other defence equipment. He highlighted the country’s ability to produce Light Combat Aircraft, sensors, radars, and electronic warfare systems.

Distinguished Visitors and Demonstrations

The event was attended by Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and other senior military leaders. The Agniveervayu Women Air Warrior Drill Team and various aircraft teams showcased their skills.

International Defence and Aerospace Expo

Later, the Defence Minister inaugurated the International Defence and Aerospace Expo (IDAX-24), which featured participation from startups, MSMEs, and major aeronautical companies. The expo highlighted India’s commitment to indigenous defence manufacturing and international collaboration.
