Defence Expert Anil Gaur and Former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta Discuss Terrorist Attack in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir
On July 22, in Gunda village, Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked a Village Development Committee (VDC) member’s house. Defence expert Anil Gaur stated that ISIS directed the terrorists to create chaos and prevent people from reporting their movements. He emphasized the need to strengthen VDCs with better equipment to combat terrorism effectively.
Gaur mentioned that the attack shows terrorists are scared of the empowered VDCs. He urged the government to provide VDCs with sophisticated arms and communication tools to enhance their capabilities.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder Gupta, called the attack Pakistani-sponsored and stressed zero tolerance for such incidents. He assured that the necessary actions are being taken to deal with the situation.
Earlier on Monday, a nearby army unit responded to the attack, leading to a firefight. The White Knight Corps confirmed ongoing operations in the Gunda area. Recently, there has been an increase in terror attacks in the Jammu region, including incidents in Kathua, Doda, and Udhampur.
On July 18, Indian Army troops fired at suspicious movements near the Line of Control in Sunderbani, Rajouri. In another encounter in Doda, two soldiers were injured and later airlifted for treatment. This incident followed a deadly encounter on July 15, where four soldiers, including Captain Brijesh Thapa, lost their lives during a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
