Deepthi Jeevanji Wins Bronze at Paris Paralympics

New Delhi, India – Para-athlete Deepthi Jeevanji arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport after winning a bronze medal in the women’s 400m T20 final at the Paris Paralympics. This was her debut at the Paralympics, and she finished the race with a time of 55.82 seconds, just behind Ukraine’s Yuliia Shuliar and Turkey’s Aysel Onder.

Jeevanji’s performance in the qualification round was also impressive, as she finished first with a time of 55.45 seconds. Other notable performances in the qualification round included Ukraine’s Yuliia Shuliar and Brazil’s Antonia Keyla Da Silva Barros.

India’s Double Podium Finishes

India continued to enjoy success at the Paralympics with multiple double podium finishes. Dharambir and Pranav Soorma won gold and silver in the men’s club throw F51 final. Ajeet Singh and Sundar Singh Gurjar claimed silver and bronze in the men’s javelin throw F46 event, while Mariyappan Thangavelu and Sharad Kumar won bronze and silver in the men’s high jump T6 final.

Other Gold Medal Winners

Harvinder Singh made history by winning India’s first-ever gold medal in para archery. Avani Lekhra won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle final, Nitesh Kumar won gold in the men’s singles SL3 category in para-badminton, and Sumit Antil set a record with a throw of 70.59m to win gold in the javelin throw F64 class final.
