Daljit Singh Cheema Criticizes Punjab Government and Comments on Kangana Ranaut’s Statements

In Chandigarh, Punjab, Daljit Singh Cheema, a senior leader and spokesperson for the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), expressed his concerns about air quality management. He urged the Supreme Court to take direct action against officials who ignore air quality instructions. This follows the Supreme Court’s directive to Punjab and Haryana to submit affidavits within seven days for not adhering to the Commission of Air Quality Monitoring’s guidelines.

Cheema criticized the Punjab government for prioritizing election campaigns and advertisements over environmental issues. He accused the government of not providing affordable stubble management machines to farmers.

Cheema also commented on the controversy surrounding Kangana Ranaut, a newly elected Member of Parliament from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. He suggested that her statements about Punjab and the farm laws might not be her own. Ranaut had initially supported the reinstatement of the repealed farm laws but later apologized, aligning her views with the BJP’s stance.
