Daljit Singh Chawdhary Takes Over as Director General of Border Security Force
New Delhi, India – Daljit Singh Chawdhary, the Director General of Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB), has taken on the additional role of Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF). Chawdhary is a 1990 batch officer of the Indian Police Service from the Uttar Pradesh cadre.
In his 34 years of service, Chawdhary has served in various capacities in Uttar Pradesh and has been on Central Deputation since 2017. He has held positions such as Additional Director General in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Special Director General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). He assumed the charge of Director General of SSB on January 23, 2024.
Chawdhary is also a renowned marksman and qualified skydiver. He has been awarded four police medals for Gallantry, the police medal for Meritorious Service, the President’s police medal for Distinguished Service, and the Ati Utkrisht Seva medal.
