Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has joined the England Lions as part of their coaching staff for a short-term period. This move is part of Andrew Flintoff’s first tour as the head coach of the England Lions. Steyn’s new role comes shortly after he ended his tenure as the bowling coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he served since 2022. He opted out of the 2024 IPL season due to personal reasons, with James Franklin taking over his position.

During his illustrious playing career, Steyn represented South Africa in 93 Test matches, taking 439 wickets with an average of 22.95. He also played 125 One Day Internationals (ODIs), claiming 196 wickets, and 47 T20 Internationals (T20Is), taking 64 wickets. Overall, Steyn took 699 wickets in 265 international matches, making him one of South Africa’s most successful bowlers.
