Dalai Lama Teaches Peace and Compassion to 5000 Followers in Dharamshala

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama gave a one-day teaching session to around 5000 people, including Tibetans and other nationals, at the Tsuglagkhang monastery in Dharamshala on Thursday morning. The event was held at the Main Tibetan Temple at the request of a group of Southeast Asians.

Participants included Tibetans, Indians, and Buddhist followers from different parts of the world. The session began with Theravada monks chanting mantras. The Dalai Lama spoke about the importance of peace, love, and compassion.

Attendees felt privileged and blessed to be part of the event. Margaret Khoo, a Malaysian devotee, said, “I have come here to meet his holiness, receive his blessings and wish him a long life. He said that we must have compassion for the benefit of all human beings.”

Koh Chee Hing, an organiser from Singapore, added, “I have come here to attend the teaching of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The participants are from Southeast Asia, people from Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia and many others have come here. He is very famous for compassion so people want to see him.”

Another Russian devotee shared, “We are feeling blessed to participate in the teaching of the Dalai Lama. It’s like a dream came true. People have come here from all over the world and we are feeling very excited.”

Dalai Lama -: The Dalai Lama is a very important spiritual leader for the people of Tibet. He teaches about peace, love, and kindness.

Dharamshala -: Dharamshala is a town in India where the Dalai Lama lives. It is in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Tsuglagkhang monastery -: The Tsuglagkhang monastery is a big temple in Dharamshala where the Dalai Lama often teaches. It is a special place for Tibetan Buddhists.

Southeast Asians -: Southeast Asians are people from countries in Southeast Asia, like Malaysia and Singapore. They asked the Dalai Lama to give this teaching.

Malaysia -: Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia. Some people from Malaysia came to Dharamshala to listen to the Dalai Lama.

Singapore -: Singapore is a small country in Southeast Asia. People from Singapore also attended the Dalai Lama’s teaching.

Russia -: Russia is a very large country that is partly in Europe and partly in Asia. Some people from Russia came to hear the Dalai Lama’s teachings.
