Cylinder Found on Railway Track in Roorkee, Uttarakhand
In Roorkee, Uttarakhand, loco pilots of goods train BCNHL/32849 reported a cylinder on the railway track between Landaura and Dhandhera. The Northern Railway CPRO confirmed the location at km 1553/01. Upon notification, a pointsman found the cylinder empty and it was secured by the station master at Dhandhera. The area is bordered by a civilian colony and an army cantonment. Local police and GRP were informed, and an FIR was filed at Civil Lines Police Station.
In a similar incident on September 22, a 5-liter empty gas cylinder was found on a railway track in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a quick response by the loco pilot prevented a potential accident. Additionally, on September 21, an attempted train derailment was prevented near Kim railway station in Surat after miscreants tampered with the track. The Western Railway, Vadodara Division, reported that the track was quickly restored.
