Cyclone Dana Approaches Odisha: Preparations and Warnings Issued
As Cyclone Dana nears Odisha, the state government is taking extensive measures to mitigate its impact. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts heavy rainfall in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal from October 24 to 26, affecting districts like Baleswar, Mayurbhanj, and Khorda.

Manoranjan Dash, Khorda District Fisheries Officer, advised fishermen to avoid the sea and Chilika Lake until October 26. The cyclone is expected to intensify into a severe storm with winds up to 120 kmph.
Preparedness Measures
Pran Nath Seth, Balugaon NAC Executive Officer, stated that measures are in place to tackle the cyclone, including cleaning drains to prevent waterlogging. Udayakar Behera, ARCS of Chilika, emphasized the safety of fishermen, urging them to stay away from Chilika Lake.
