Customer Finds Cockroach in Coffee at Mumbai Hotel, Files Complaint
Pratik Rawat, a 25-year-old who works at an event company, had a shocking experience at a hotel in Mumbai’s Malad area. While enjoying cold coffee with his friend Ganesh, Pratik found a cockroach in his drink. He had already consumed about 70 percent of the coffee when he noticed something unusual. Upon closer inspection, he discovered a cockroach in the glass.
Pratik immediately showed the cockroach to his friend and then called the waiter. He also took a photo of the cockroach with his mobile phone. The hotel’s owner later arrived, took the glass to the kitchen, and showed Pratik the strainer where the cold coffee is made, claiming that the cockroach could not have come from there. The owner then disposed of the cockroach in the basin and poured water over it.
Pratik, who felt nauseated and vomited several times that night, decided to file a complaint. The case was registered at the Malad police station under sections 125, 274, 275, and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint was filed against the hotel’s manager, waiter, and other staff.
